From what I understand it should be something like "lighter fluid" or maybe " flammable liquid"

Could you please provide me with a translation of the quote, and the context it can be used in?
Does the "dat" need to be there or can it be left out and still make sense?

No you can't remove the 'dat', that would sound strange. It says: "I hope that I will just/still survive today" I don't know about what context it is used in.

This conversation happened in dutch under a facebook photo my friend was tagged in. We have our suspicions about what is said but my dutch is not good enough to know for sure! I have put surname instead of the persons last name.

If you want to translate it exactly it would be 'herinner mij'. It depends on the context that you are using it in though.'Herinner mij' is mostly used when you want to say for example '(help me remember) remember me to buy milk' the translation of this is 'herinner mij om melk te kopen'

If you are trying to say the shorter version of 'Can you still remember me?'  which is 'remember me?'
you can say 'herinner je mij nog?' or the shorter version 'herinner je mij?'

If you are trying to say: goodbye, don't forget me, remember me
In this context, it would be most appropriate to use 'don't forget me --> vergeet mij niet'

Also, if you search this matter in Google it will give you 'Weet je nog me' which is incorrect

Ik heb heel wat online zoekwerk verricht om een juiste vertaling te vinden van het woord kennisketen omdat dit niet terug te vinden was in het gratis online Van Dale woordenboek, en ook niet via encyclo.nl dat alle Nederlandstalige online woordenboeksites doorzoekt. Als je echter een zoekactie voor dit specifieke woord doet met scroogle.org (scroogle gebruikt google maar je blijft zelf anoniem) dan vond ik een voortreffelijke Engelse vertaling op de website van de universiteit van Utrecht: http://www.uu.nl/EN/CURRENT/Pages/15millionforAvianInfluenzaresearc... waar zij het dus naar "Knowledge Chain" vertalen.

According to Van Dale, flink can be used in 4 different ways:
as adj/adv it has 3 different meanings:
1) stevig (solid, sturdy,...)
2) ruim, vrij groot (large, big,...)
3)sterk van karakter, ferm (morally strong, plucky,...)
as adv only:
4) erg ("het is flink koud"= "it's very cold")
